What is the difference between Squat Stands & Squat Racks

The main difference is that Squats stands are more basic than a rack or power cage. They have a wide, sturdy base and 2 vertical bars which you can place your barbell. They also have a lower weight limit than racks. Squat Racks on the otherhand tend to be wider, more solid and have 4 vertical bars and a horizontal bar at the top. Spotter bars or safety bars can also be attached to Squat Racks for additional safety and protection, dip bars and pull up bars for extra versatility as well as accessories such as plate holders and storage pegs.

How is a Power Rack Used?

A power rack or power cage is a complete structure which surrounds the user while they perform barbell exercises. They have a higher weight limit than stands and racks and also include safety bars and other accessories such as pull up bars, dips and storage pegs. It basically provides fully equipped weight lifting stations for committed trainers and supports olympic weight training and powerlifting. This piece of equipment comes with a higher price tag but is work the investment if you are serious about strength training.
